| 1950 |
Shiu Wing was founded by the late Mr. Pong Ding Yuen in 1950 as a
ship-breaking operation in Kwai Chung.

1958
|
The advent of the container port saw the business move to Junk Bay.
The first rolling mill was installed at this time. Strips of steel cut
from ship plate were hand-fed into the mill and rolled into ½
inch bars.

紹榮遷往將軍澳調景嶺，建成第一間軋鋼廠，利用船板切成的鐵條進行滾軋鋼筋

1960
|
The demand for higher tensile grades of steel by engineers urged
Shiu Wing to import high quality billets from BHP Australia.
|

因應市場對高拉力鋼筋的需求，我們便開始由澳洲BHP進口高質量的鋼鉟以軋製成品

1979
|
The first electric arc furnace was installed. The arc furnace
recycled locally collected scrap steel by melting and refining, then
continuously casting the molten steel into billets.

建成自己的第一座電弧熔爐，將本地收購的廢鐵回收再造，重新熔化、精煉，然後連續鑄造成鋼鉟

1989
|
Government redevelopment plans required Shiu Wing Steel to once
again move sites.

1991
|
The new site in Tuen Mun
was identified and Shiu Wing Steel invested HK$1 billion in the new
rolling mill.

Shiu
Wing attained ISO9000, certified by Hong Kong Quality Assurance
Agency.

The rolling mill in Tuen Mun began operation. The annual capacity reached
750,000mt.

The wire mesh plant was introduced. It is able to supply a range of welded
steel fabric for the reinforcement of concrete.

購入鋼網機，以先進技術生產鋼筋網

2001 |
Installed "Endless Bar Rolling System"
(EBROS). This process
welds billets together in the mill line so that an endless rolling process is
obtained, resulting in improved quality and uniformity of product,
as well as increased productivity. |

引入鋼鉟焊接技術"易駁時"
EBROS，目的是提高軋鋼的質素及穩定性，和增加生產量

2004 |
Successfully obtained zero tariff status under Closer Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
Began setting up sales and marketing stations throughout the Pearl River Delta region in China. |
